RHSC on Facebook

Posted: Tuesday, November 15th, 2011

How would you like to be able to communicate with all of your fellow Riverhillers instantly?  As communications director, I created a new RHSC group on my Facebook page that will enable us to send messages, pose questions and share photos as a group.  The new RHSC group is on Facebook’s improved format (the one Walter K. set up years ago is on an old format and will soon be deleted by FB).  Now, when anyone in the RHSC group posts a message on the wall, everyone in the group receives that message by email.

So how can we use this? Let’s say you just arrived to Killington after a long Friday night drive and drop by the Wobbly Barn for a drink to find an amazing band playing.  You can post a message on the RHSC wall to encourage others to stop by.  Or maybe you need a ride to Killington and want to see if anyone has room in their car…or you’re the monthly coordinator and you just received a cancelation the Friday morning before a prime winter weekend and want to let everyone know that a few beds opened…or you just had an amazing weekend at the lodge and want to post a few photos to share.  Now that many of us have smart phones with email and Facebook, this is all possible!

So how can you join the new RHSC Facebook group?  It’s very easy.  Just find me on Facebook (Anne Salzberg Olshan) and send me a friend request and I will add you to the group.  If you’re not already on Facebook, it takes only a few minutes to sign up and I can be your first friend!  The RHSC Facebook group will not replace the blast emails and Skizettes you already receive from me that notify you about important club events, but will give us a forum for easily communicating with each other for the first time.

Hope to see you on Facebook!

Anne
