What’s New

2016-2017 Membership Renewal

Posted: Tuesday, September 6th, 2016
Dear River Hill Club Members,
It is time to renew our memberships and begin a new ski season! I am anxiously looking forward to it as I hope you are too!
Although we had a tough season last year, membership rates will remain the same this year.
However, with the low use of the ski house and terrible snow season, there is no extra to do the needed maintenance to the house.  After spending some time at the house, it is apparent that we have come to a crossroads and that there is a lot of work that needs to be done to keep our club in good working order and safe. This is not for new improvements but overdue maintenance.
In order to get the work completed, we need as much participation at our work weekend(s) as possible. I am calling on our membership to embrace our founding principles which is based on participation by all members.
We realize that attending work weekends can be difficult with kids, school, sports and other family events.
This year in order continue to make our club great, we are offering members an option.
Option 1 – Commit and attend one of the work weekends
Option 2 – Pay a contribution of $100 per adult member in place of the work weekend
In your membership package, there is form that will give you the dates and option to choose. The funds will be used exclusively for necessary maintenance to the club.
We appreciate your understanding in this matter. As your President, it is my responsibility along with the Board Members to create a safe, enjoyable environment that will continue to serve all of our families now and in the future.

I joined this club in part for it’s die hard skiing spirit and approach to it’s success. Let’s continue that tradition.
Thank you and I appreciate your understanding and support!

Robert was a supporter of the 1960’s civil rights movement and participated in the 1963 March on Washington with Dr. Martin Luther King. RB never let race deter him and served as an example and inspiration to younger generations. Bob was a body building enthusiast, hitting the gym three times a week until well into his late 70’s. Getting Ready For the Season……just add snow!

It was a successful work weekend with a significant scrubbing and cleaning of the interior of the club. Leaf raking, wood splitting and stacking along with securing the outside deck for safe usage this winter. Minor painting was performed but no outdoor exterior painting due to the weather over the work weekend.

CV Oil completed the furnace replacement last week, so we should be nice and warm this winter!
