Flyers on the Quebec Winter Carnival have been posted on the website at http://www.riverhillsskiclub.org/member-resources/documents/flyers/.  The trip takes place January 31 to February 5, 2013 at the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac on the Saint-Lawrence River. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and all club members young and old are encouraged to make the trip (kids under 18 who room with their parents stay for free)!  Space is very limited so sign up now!  A $100 deposit is all that’s required to save your space.

All current RHSC members should have received an email with a link to an online survey to vote for your new board members for 2012/2013. Please take a moment to vote before 6pm tonight or come to the general meeting tonight (7:30 pm at Long Ridge Tavern) to cast your vote in person.

Each adult member of RHSC gets one vote. If there is another adult member in your household who has not received the survey, you can forward the email to their email address. Each completed survey must have a name of a current adult RHSC member to be counted. If you are a current member and have not received the survey, please respond to this email and we will send it to you.

Votes will be counted at the general meeting tonight and the new board will be announced.

At last night’s general meeting, Madge Kellick nominated two more members from the floor to serve on the board:  Lori Constantine for Secretary and Anne Zaera for Vice President.  Her nominations were seconded by Bob Hener.  Since Anne had been nominated by the nominating committee to serve as secretary, she withdrew her previous agreement to run as secretary so Lori will be running uncontested.  Therefore, the following candidates are final:
 
President – John Olshan and John Swingler
Vice President – Stephanie Evers and Anne Zaera
Secretary – Lori Constantine
Treasurer – Tom Hughes
 
Voting will take place via an emailed survey to go out in the next few days.  As a reminder, each adult member of RHSC gets one vote.  If there is an adult member in your household who does not receive RHSC emails, please send their email address to Anne Olshan by replying to this email.  Votes will also be accepted in person at the May 1 general meeting at Long Ridge Tavern.

At the April 10 general meeting, the nominating committee – led by Bill Hughes and Gabe Cordova -  announced the following slate for next year’s board:
 
President – John Swingler
Vice President – Stephanie Evers
Secretary – Anne Zaera
Treasurer – Tom Hughes
 
At this meeting, Anne Zaera also nominated John Olshan from the floor to run as president.  Her nomination was seconded by Bob Boothroyd, Lou Trovato, Rod Cross and Loretta Nolan, among others..  The next general meeting will take place on Tuesday. April 24 at Long Ridge Tavern, 2635 Long Ridge Road in Stamford.  Additional nominations can be made from the floor at this meeting. Voting will take place by May 1 online, repeating last year’s very successful process.
 
It’s important that members attend these meetings to play an active role in the election process.  Hope to see you there!

The April 3 general meeting has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 10, at 7:30 pm.  At this meeting, the nominating committee – led by Bill Hughes and Gabe Cordova -  will announce the proposed slate for next year’s board.  Bob Hener will also be collecting any unused bulk tickets.  The meeting will take place at Long Ridge Tavern, 2635 Long Ridge Road in Stamford.  

A second general meeting for the month will take place on Tuesday, April 24, also at Long Ridge Tavern.  At this meeting, members can nominate other members from the floor to serve on the board.
 
It’s important that members attend these meetings to play an active role in the election process.  Hope to see you there!

Mother nature played tricks with the weather this year. This is your only chance to roll over any unused CSC tickets you might have.

All unused CSC bulk ticket 2011/2012 vouchers must be returned to Bob Hener by MAY 4. You can return the unused CSC ticket vouchers from any of the areas accepting the CSC vouchers. REMINDER: there is NO guarantee on the dollar value credit the areas will issue on the unused ticket rollovers!  You can be assured they will be discounted 10% or more!
