The deadline to order tickets is EXTREMELY TIGHT. All order forms and checks must be received by the close of the RHSC meeting next Tuesday Oct 1, 2019. Anyone planning to order tickets but unable to attend the meeting, please contact Susan Brown to make arrangements to get your order form and check to her before Tuesday. She may be reached by phone at (203) 243-5412 or email at sbrown0328@hotmail.com.

If you returned bulk tickets last spring, you should have received an email from Susan Brown confirming the dollar amount of your credit, if you have any questions regarding your credit, please contact her. Please make your check payable to River Hills Ski Club and it may not be included with your renewal dues (it must be a seperate check).
IMPORTANT:There will be absolutely NO exceptions to the Oct 1st deadline!

Ticket guidelines will be strictly adhered to in order to maintain the integrity of this program. Bulk tickets will only be sold to CSC ski clubs with proper identification. Distribution of these tickets through other avenues will result in forfeiture of this bulk ticket program and other future programs. These tickets are good for the 2019 – 2020 ski season and a percentage of unused tickets may be returned for credit toward the purchase of bulk tickets for the 2020-2021 ski season.

Annual Renewal

Posted: Sunday, August 25th, 2019

August 25, 2019

Dear River Hills Member:

I trust everyone is enjoying these last days of summer and using this time to renew, refresh and reinvigorate.    River Hills has used this time to start the process of preparing for the upcoming season with a very successful work weekend in June (details on accomplishment sent in my previous update) and various ad hoc improvements at the lodge.  In preparation for the upcoming season, it is now time for each of you to:

  • Renew your membership in River Hills Ski Club (click on link below).
  • Schedule yourself to attend our Summer Picnic meeting at Bill Hughes’ house, September 5th @ 7pm.
  • Make sure you are signed up for one of the October work weekends.
  • Tune your skis and get in shape for another great year!

In preparing for the upcoming season, your board has been focused on a few primary objectives: to create opportunities for more members to become engaged and involved in the successful operation of the club; streamline our processes and record keeping; and critical attention to its’ long-term financial stability.

In the matter of getting more members engaged and involved, we have begun by adding a number of new people serving on the board of directors (myself being one of them).  Board members will be reaching out to members to assist them in accomplishing their goals and task.  We ask you to pay particular attention to those areas where you can help!

This summer we have concentrated our efforts on streamlining the annual renewal to a paperless process. It is very important for everyone to complete the online form accurately and as soon as possible.  Please click on the link below to complete your application

Over the past several seasons, we have seen a steady increase in both fixed and usage related lodge-operating costs.  Fortunately they were partially offset through careful cost cutting; that said, even after a good year from a revenue perspective, our overall income and expenses ended the year in the negative.  Based on careful consideration, the board has decided that after 8+ years with no dues or rate increases, we will initiate an increase for the 2019/20 season.

The 2019/2020 Dues and Lodge rates are outlined below.  You will notice that in the simplification process we have eliminated separate lines for DMF/CIF as many of you highlighted these as confusing.  We will still include a weekend voucher with memberships, but please note that as part of the streamlining/cost reduction process, these vouchers will now be paperless.

  • Please click on the link below to complete the Online Membership Renewal Form no later than September 30, 2019 and submit your payment as soon as possible.
  • hhttps://forms.gle/QfwcVBktGDe7Fh2c7

Payments should be made payable to River Hills Ski Club and mailed to Jenn Freeda at the address below or you may bring it to a meeting no later than Oct 1, 2019:

  • Jenn Freeda
  • Fifth St
  • Stamford, CT 06905

As always, please feel free to contact myself or any other board member if you have questions or comments.  If you would like to discuss in person, please join us at Bill Hughes house for our Summer Picnic meeting on September 5, at 7pm.

As a reminder, Renewals are due no later than October 1, 2019; there will be a $15 penalty assessed for renewals received after that date.  If renewal is not received by October 15, 2019, in accordance with the By-laws of the corporation, your membership will be terminated.  If you wish to discuss your membership status and/or need to make alternate arrangements, please contact Jenn Freeda at jennfreeda@gmail.com, (203) 952-3296.  Again, if you have other questions, feel free to contact me at (914) 805-9066, email mmyers27@outlook.com or any of the members of your board.

Thank You, Be Well and Enjoy!
